The Yoni Jesner Foundation sponsored the first British-Israel medical pilot trip for students studying medicine in the UK. Medical students spent four days travelling around Israel learning about all aspects of the Israeli medical profession.

The students visited, amongst other places, the Abu Kabir Forensic Pathology Institute, Schlesinger Centre for Medical Ethics, Sha’arei Zedek Accident and Emergency Department, Selah Rehabilitation Centre for Victims of Terror, the Trauma Rehabilitation Centre at Sheba Medical Centre and the Israel Medical Association.

The students met with Israeli medical specialists in different fields, Israeli medical students and British doctors who live and work in Israel. It is hoped that the trip will help foster closer ties between the medical professions in the UK and Israel and give the UK students a better appreciation and understanding of the medical profession in Israel.
